Project description

Superplasticizers are additives for concrete that enhance the processability. In addition, they allow a reduction in water content leading to stronger concrete. The current best performing commercial superplasticizers are based on copolymers with both carboxylate and oligoethylene glycol side chains. Within this project we will further develop a recently discovered novel class of superplasticizers that do not have oligoethylene glycol side-chains and have the potential to become the next generation of superplasticizers for concrete. More specifically, we will further explore the scope and unique selling propositions of our new superplasticizers, as basis for strenghtening the patent application during the priority year and to provide a solid basis for commercialization of this technology.
