In today’s world, more and more organizations recognize that their human capital represents their primary competitive advantage. Retaining talented employees is therefore crucial for the survival and success of these organizations. The “war for talent” continues to rage, and in many sectors, significant efforts are required to ensure employees remain committed to their organizations. This aligns with the growing importance of creating a supportive feedback environment to enhance employee engagement and well-being. Both in academic literature and in practice, there is an ongoing debate about the shift from traditional performance appraisals and evaluation to more continuous and supportive feedback conversations. Funding will be used to support multiple research projects—both ongoing and upcoming—focused on feedback and performance management. Examples include exploring the importance of feedforward, examining the impact of direct supervisors, measuring relevant variables within a supportive feedback environment, and gaining insights into what “the new way” of evaluating should look like.
