Project description

This research project seeks to quantify the importance of lianas for the carbon cycle in the tropical rainforest of the Congo basin. The floristics and ecology of lianas will be characterized and their role in the carbon cycle determined in different forest ecotypes with contrasting abiotic environments. The resulting dataset will serve to validate a vegetation model.
