This research project explores the integration of AI in blended learning environments within teacher education. The project is a collaboration between the research groups 'Teacher Education and Professional Development' and EDUMAST of the Department of Educational Studies. Additionally, the project involves cooperation with Hogeschool Gent. The project investigates how AI tools, such as adaptive learning platforms and automated feedback systems, can support the professional development of future teachers. The project focuses on the development and evaluation of innovative didactic strategies that enhance both the effectiveness of blended learning and students' self-regulation and critical thinking skills. Through this approach, the project aims to better prepare teachers for the challenges of 21st-century education.
