Project description

The production of hydrogen from water and sunlight is an attractive option for storing renewable energy. The goal of this research activity is the fabrication of a low-cost porous monolithic photovoltaic-electrochemical cell by exploiting the in-house expertise in PV, photo-electrochemistry, Photonics and semiconductor micromachining. The envisaged porous PV-EC device is expected to reach a solar to hydrogen efficiency above 8%.
