Project description

Potato cyst nematodes (PCN) are quarantine pests causing potato losses in Uganda. Understanding the agronomic and socio-economic factors that influence their establishment and proliferation are important for their management. I will generate information on the effect of cropping systems and socio-economic factors on PCN populations, and use of natural resistance to guide growers and other stakeholders on appropriate management strategies.
