Project description
This proposal suggests that the transition from land occupation towards permanent settlement hinges on 2 conditions: 1) the manner these occupations enable upward social mobility for rural populations, 2) the manner coalitions are being established with external public authorities. These 2 research questions will be analysed through a case-study of the Serikat Petani Pasudan (PPT) in West-Java, Indonesia
