In the 19th and 20th centuries, newspapers served as a crucial medium for introducing foreign literature to wide audiences through translation, though this remains understudied. This project examines translations of Russian literature in Dutch newspapers, demonstrating their use to reflect current events, educate readers, promote forthcoming books, and cultivate reader loyalty.
