Project description

Vascular networks for self-healing concrete can reduce maintenance costs and extend the service

 

life of a structure. This project aims to optimize the topology, radius and interconnectivity of vascular

networks, and realizing the designs by 3D printing. The networks are embedded in concrete and

tested for self-healing efficiency, and topologies are further optimized by employing numerical

simulations.
