Project description

In collaboration with the international project supervised by the University of Tübingen 'Monies, Markets, and Finance in China and East Asia, 1600-1900: Local, Regional, National and International Dimensions', this project investigates the role of the Chinese Buddhist monasteries within the economical centres of Late Imperial China.
