Project description

This research project enables further development of the existing research lines within the Unit of Medical Informatics and Statistics on the following topics:

  • (1) (Data) quality of electronic medical record systems for primary use (in the context of care) and secondary use (clinical scientific research) of medical data:
    • (1.1) Research on establishing, validating, measuring, and monitoring of data quality dimensions
    • (1.2) Research on different aspects of electronic medical record systems (e.g. functionalities, interoperability, …)
  • (2) Mapping of medical data:
    • (2.1) Research on mapping of medical data to (inter)national standards (e.g. from SNOMED-CT to ICPC3, ICF, and ICHI)
    • (2.2) Research on harmonizing medical data from different heterogenous data sources for secondary use by mapping it to the OMOP-CDM data model
