Project description
At the functional interactomics group we map the protein interaction landscape of key plant protein regulators. SnRK1 is such a master regulator that coordinates plant growth, metabolism and development in function of sugar and thus carbon availability. We previously generated and published a SnRK1 interactome by combining AP-MS, proximity labelling (PL) and phospho proteomics. A) ASG1(L) and B) TPR149 were identified in this network as novel, highly specific SnRK1 protein interaction partners with unknown functions in the nucleus and chloroplast respectively. This PhD project consist of validation and characterisation of these interactors in planta. We are discovering how SnRK1 steers transcriptional reprogramming and starch degradation.
