Project description

This project, the first step in a cotton breeding process. It aims to gain new insight into the cotton fiber morphology and the possibilities gemodificceerde fibers to acquire a broader knowledge and understanding of how fiber properties can be influenced or improved. The project focuses on three target functions: general responsiveness and dyeability, wrinkle resistance and inherent flame retardance. There are three defined objectives. The integrated approach of this project should lead to long-term to new and better cotton fibers. The development of new types of fiber itself is not part of this project.
