Project description

The aim of the REDNEX project is to develop innovative management practices for intensive dairy farms in order to reduce the environmentally harmful excretion of nitrogen. UGent develops methods to use milk fatty acid profiles as an information source on microbial rumen function and the related nitrogen metabolism. This information could be used to optimize rations towards a more efficient nitrogen metabolism.
