Project description
Oral immunisation offers many advantages, however epithelial barriers hamper antigen uptake. To trigger intestinal immunity in pigs, antigen uptake will be enhanced via oral administration of plant--‐produced antibody--‐antigen constructs selectively targeted to an epithelial transcytotic receptor. In parallel, to circumvent oral administration, intradermal immunization in the presence of retinoic acid should allow switching the skin’s immune system towards intestinal immunity.
