Project description

X-ray medical imaging is constantly evolving and new systems are regularly introduced on the market. Especially in computed tomography (CT), manufacturers are coming up with numerous innovations . Of course, these new techniques meet the basic requirements of the radiation protection legislation to be used safely in clinical practice.  Nevertheless, a thorough and independent analysis of dose and image quality, among other things, is necessary to obtain the most optimal dose-image quality ratio. In this project, the following new developments will be evaluated:

  1. ultra-low dose CT based on the latest deep-learning reconstruction techniques
  2. cone-beam CT in which the patient stands upright and the image is taken under the influence of gravity load
