Project description

Pursuant to the ‘non-intervention principle’, States must refrain from interfering in civil strife. Considerable confusion nonetheless exists over the principle’s precise scope. The project aims at analysing customary practice in order to define the scope of the principle in the context of non-international armed conflicts, and to establish whether it treats assistance to armed groups differently from assistance to the legal government.
