Project description
The Excellente Cronike van Vlaenderen is one of the most important, and rather complex, late medieval vernacular manuscript traditions. The aim of this research is to consider how different manuscript versions of the Excellente Cronike show a process of rewriting, and how they reflect specific ideological discursive and narrative strategies which are linked to the socio-political and cultural constellations in late medieval Flanders.
