Project description
Intestinal worms infect ~1.4 billion children worldwide. To fight these worms, large-scale deworming
programs are implemented. However, these programs are highly vulnerable to the development of
anthelmintic resistance (AR). The project aims to identify molecular markers for AR, to
develop/validate diagnostic tools for these markers, and to implement the tools to assess AR in high
drug pressure areas.
