Project description

Hybrid fiber-wireless networks constitute an important research area to enable the large-scale integration of 5G-networks and 5G-attocells. Hybrid fiber-wireless networks combine the advantages of the fiber with the flexibility of the wireless channel. Research into 5G radio-over-fiber links (e.g. the opto-electronic receiver chips) offers the opportunity to greatly improve the performance, cost and power consumption.
