The 2010 Belgian Researchers' night will take place on the 24th of September 2010, in the Centre for Fine Arts - BOZAR in Brussels it mainly aims at enhancing public recognition of researchers and their work, by bringing them closer to the public at large regardless of age and scientific background.
The broad and varied programme of activities will be centred on the overall theme of biodiversity, taking advantage of the 2010 international Year of Biodiversity and will focus on mutual understanding of researchers and citizens around this specific theme. It will notably include:
- European corners;
- Hands on experiments;
- Interactive games;
- Quizzes;
- Display of films;
- Discussions and debates with researchers in an informal and friendly atmosphere;
- Entertainment...
Researchers will be offered the opportunity to talk about themselves, about their research and their role in daily life, as well as about any other topic of interest to the audience, while citizens will express their feelings, scepticism, doubts, fears or enthusiasm on the importance of biodiversity.
