Manipulation experiments in the growth room and the experimental forest allow to investigate how trees react on drought stress and how they regain vitality when watered. Special attention will go to spatial and temporal variability of the radial sapflow profile. This research will lead to a dynamic model of water transport and transpiration to obtain more accurate transpiration estimations.
