Project description

Memory fulfills a vital role in the genesis and perception of ephemeral performance arts. Dramaturgical analysis of Jommelli's operas for the Teatro Argentina, Rome, bears out evidence revealing the manipulation of spectators' expectional horizonds through memonic strategic, such as topical recall. Critical assessment of the memorabilia pertaining to this repertoire, on the other hand, reveals the listener's 'struggle against forgetting'.
