Project description

Failed surgery of the sternoclavicular joint can cause a painful, unstable joint and severely impaired arm function. A new and innovative sternoclavicular prosthesis was developed and a patent application was filed for this. This prosthesis is based on the "inverse prosthesis" principle that has proven its clinical value in years with rotator cuff insufficiency of shoulder pathology. Building on this in vivo proof of concept, the ultimate goal of this project is to valorize this new prosthesis.
