Owing to the settlement’s founding at the end of the 13th century BC, its short-lived occupation, its seemingly premeditated abandonment and its ethnically amalgamated material, the archaeological record of Pyla-Kokkinokremos/Cyprus surfaces as an exceptional opportunity to address the Late Bronze crisis period and international contacts in the Eastern Mediterranean/Levant alongside the socio-economic structures and cultural affinities of a coastal settlement.
