Project description
Ephtelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a process where epithelial cells lose ther apicobasal polarity, and acquire a fibroblast-like fenotype with enhanced migratory capacity. EMT has a proven role during malignant cancer progression. The role of immunity and inflammation in the regulation and enhancement of EMT in particular in epidermal stem cells will be studied. As such diverse aspects of inflamation will be genetically modulated in EMT cancer mouse models.
