Project description
Clathrates are porous ice structures which can store several gasses in the interstitial cavities of their porous structures, making them an attractive candidate for the storage of fuels such as methane and hydrogen. Clathrate formation is currently very energy demanding. In this research, novel porous materials are developed which would permit faster clathrate formation under milder conditions. It enables the safe and mobile storage of hydrogen within structures composed of water molecules.
