Research of them other cities Chalkis (on Euboia) and Cycladic Naxos of the earliest Greek colony of Sicily, Naxos: to what extend did the colony influence the construction of identify in the mother cities? Did she help to crystallize and identity? Was the creation of (imaginary) ties dependant of certain opportunities e.g. the political situation? Or did the colony serve only practical purposes?
