Project description

The project will investigate the role of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) and febrile seizures. MMP analysis will be performed on human hippocampal tissue and cerebrospinal fluid from persons with and without MTLE. The role of MMPs and the effect of different treatment modalities will als be investigated in 2 animal models.
