Project description
Why do some European countries prohibit shale gas exploitation, while others encourage it? This project looks for explanations drawing on a theoretical framework on the regulation of risky technologies. First, an interpretive case study is conducted of the UK and the Netherlands. Next, the results are tested on a larger empirical base through a QCA analysis.
