Project description

This study aims at defining the use of Old Babylonian seals as expressions of the family tradition. By studying the seal use of different families, this research intends to contribute to the study of the Old Babylonian society. The corpus will be composed on the basis of a unique seal database of the Department Assyriology (Ghent University).
