Project description

Rotational radiation therapy is the base of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMAT). IMAT can be delivered using the existing irradiation equipment provided that the procedures for quality assurance are adequate. To that end, this PhD study will develop smart procedures to find out computational errors and machine deviations. The methods used, such as film dosimetry, are intuitive and available in developing countries lowering the threshold there to introduce advanced radiation therapy.
