prostate cancer RNA exosomes

Project description

Every human body cell secretes very small vesicles full of cell material, called exosomes. We hypothesize that exosomes contain a specific RNA cargo characteristic for the cell of origin, and can thus be used for (prostate) cancer diagnosis in blood plasma. In addition, the role of exosomal RNA in prostate cancer initiation and progression will be investigated.
