Project description

How and when academic historians bring the past to the public was recently the subject of much debate, precisely at a time when more and more non-experts present themselves as public historians. As a reaction to this, Ghent University and Klara join forces for the production of a podcast series entitled 'The princesses of Flanders: a new history of the medieval county'. This podcast series (2022) will be the scholarly approved prequel to the highly successful "The Burgundians" with Bart van Loo: just as good, just as thrilling, yet from a totally different perspective and with the latest insights from the renowned medieval studies at Ghent UNiversity. Together, Klara and Ghent University will set a new standard for historical podcasting and science communication in Flanders and The Netherlands.
