Effects of emotion on attention and attention flexibility are still poorly understood in the existing cognitive neuroscience literature. In this project, we will examine systematically effects of emotion and motivation on spatial attention as well as attention flexibility, defined as the ability to switch between internal and external information. Lab studies in healthy human adult participats will be peformed and either EEG or fMRI will be used to reveal the neural basis of this modulation.
