Project description

Lowland rivers are characterised by patterns as vegetation patches and flow gradients, which dtermine the functionality of the river ecosystem (nutrientcycling, retention of material). The purpose of the project is to develop and apply new surface covering, optical measuring techniques with high spatial and temporal resolutions to map the heterogeneity in river ecosystems. Measurements will be used for the development and validation of a 2D river ecosystem model.
