Project description
Disruption of cis-regulatory control can lead to altered gene expression and disease as a result of the dissociation of a gene and its cis-regulatory sequences. Through identification of long-range genetic rearrangements in specific developmental conditions and the mapping and functional study of the cis-elements of their corresponding disease genes, we aim at a better insight in the contribution of cis-ruption mechanisms in the molecular pathogenesis of genetic disorders.
