Project description

Scheelites are ABO4 compounds (B = Mo, W). The cations A can be partially substituted with rare earth ions. Some of these materials show incommensurate non-periodic symmetry, and the exact ordering of the ions is reflected in the optical properties. The purpose of the project is to optimise their photoluminescence for LED applications by changing the order in the lattice.
