Within CMST, we develop systems and technology to integrate electronics in a number of materials, such as textiles, hard and soft polymers, ...
Many of the current projects are located in the fields of medical and sports technology, where we want to measure properties such as movement, pressure, temperature, pH, skin conductivity. In both areas the sensors will come in contact with the human body and skin. Comfort is an import aspect; the sensors should be soft and flexible. Using printed electronics, soft sensors can be developed. When we want to add intelligence to these sensors (communication, data processing) this is preferably established in a flexible chip technology. Such technologies have recently become available, but they should be integrated in our process flows.
Within this project, we can establish a technology platform to create new soft, intelligent sensor systems.
