The majority of Ethiopia's population engages in agriculture, and agricultural extension is a key governmental activity. The research in the Amhara region has four objectives: Identify the socio economic determinants of the interactions between farmers and extension staff; analyse the discrepancy between policy discourses and extension practices; identify factors affecting households’ choice of extension methods; and explore the roles of extension agents.
