UGent medical students have been welcome in Maputo’s ‘Hospital Central’ for traineeships since 2013. However enriching for them, the exchange has remained unilateral so far.

Mozambique struggles with a shortage of trained healthcare professionals. A true exchange program includes access for Mozambican trainees and staff in healthcare at our university and/or online participative case discussions, hands-on trainings or research collaboration.
