The main objective of RecyLIB is to perform research and development activities towards establishing a
sustainable, low-energy, high performance and highly efficient manufacturing and recycling chain for LIBs.
The intention is to incorporate an advanced solventless melt electrode (re)manufacturing process and a
direct recycling approach (Electrohydraulic fragmentation EHF → centrifuge process → active material
regeneration). A sustainability assessment will be conducted focusing on socio-environmental and circularity
aspects of the lithium-ion battery components, also assessing the benefits of critical raw materials used in
the technology being kept in the economy loop. RecyLIB mainly addresses topic 4 (Recycling and Re-use of
End-of-Life-products) but also covers several sub-topics as listed in the table below
