The Children's Rights Monitor provides valuable insights into the living conditions of children and serves as an essential tool for developing and adapting future policies. The aim of this monitor is to place children's rights more prominently on the agenda across various policy domains and to substantiate policy decisions with relevant content. This contributes to the improvement of children's living conditions, as enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
For four specific indicators of the Children's Rights Monitor, data from the Study on Youth and Health (HBSC Flanders) are utilized. These indicators include suicidal thoughts, perceived support from parents or guardians, and experiences of bullying and cyberbullying. The results not only map the general prevalence of these indicators but also provide a breakdown based on age, gender, place of residence, origin, and disability. Additionally, trends over time will be examined where possible, offering valuable insights for further policy development.
