Project description
Global change may potentially have large consequences on the biodiversity,
especially in Antarctica. Filamentous cyanobacteria are keystone taxa here.
There is little known about the genetic basis of their adaptation and survival
in these extreme conditions on Antarctica. This proposal has the goal to gain
a better understanding of the genetic adaptation of salinity and droughtstress
in Antarctic filamentous cyanobacteria.
