Traditional normative design concepts no longer satisfy modern requirements. The design of new and assessment / rehabilitation of existing concrete structures require accurate predictions of a structure’s time-dependent response. Experimental studies combining the material and structural scales allow the development and validation of advanced non-linear numerical analysis techniques which in turn are the basis of simplified yet reliable prediction models.
