Project description
For the better protection of underground water resources from pollution, polymer-treated bentonite is needed for the hydraulic barrier systems subjected to wet and dry cycles (unsaturated behavior). This project deals with the estimation of the water retention curves of the polymerized bentonite and the assessment of the potential of the waste polymeric material to develop polymer-treated bentonite.
