Project description

The aim of this PhD project is to develop specific glycoforms of potentially therapeutic cytokines (hIL-10 and hIL-22). We want to investigate in vivo whether specific glycoforms of the cytokines are excited in specific organs through binding with
tissue-specific lectins. Our focus here includes interactions with the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGP-R). Ultimately, we want to investigate whether this physical enrichment actually leads to increased local cytokine activity. In this way we aim to develop a new experimental therapy for chronic liver disease.
