Project description

An integrated approach will be developed in which beam steering elements will be integrated with other elements such as modulators. The approach will be concentrated around the 'silicon-photonics' platform with SOI (silicon-on-insulator) substrate. Beam steering will be achieved by means of a phased array of diffraction elements connected by waveguides and phase modulators with an on-chip laser or detector.
