Project description

A rising demand for safe drinking water makes it necessary to close the Urban Water Cycle (water to wastewater to water) in a sustainable, cost efficient manner. Microbial communities have always been used in water industry and environmental biotechnology, but rather based on historical empirical than scientific approaches. Consequently, the management of microbial communities and their interactions in a controlled way is the next step, termed Microbial Resource Management.
