The corona crisis revealed the vulnerability of global production chains, but at the same time demonstrated the importance of local production capacity. The transition to a bio circular economy that uses local, sustainable raw materials and creates new, local jobs can contribute greatly to this. The construction sector in particular benefits from this: ecological building with new materials (such as bio composites) using energy-efficient technologies can make a major contribution to climate goals while stimulating the local economy.
